I am from a typical working class familiy in Indiana. We are, by no means, rich. But I want my wedding to be something out of the box and outside of something that I'd normally do. We have a vintage theme (1940s-1950s). I brought up the idea of putting "casual nice" on the invitation. One reason why I've contemplated this is a couple of my cousins showed up to my grandfather's funeral in torn up jeans and work boots. My Dad, who is a welder, even wore a suit. I know that most people know that a wedding means that you should dress up, but I really don't know if some extended family members would. Is this snobby of me to want to put a "dress code" on the invitation?
Has anyone else had this issue?
