Wedding Vows & Ceremony Discussions

I think i found the perfect place

I really do think i found the perfect place to have our wedding. Its an old barn and the pictures are wonderful and with it being fall the trees and flowers would look beatuiful. So my thing is what kind of questions do i ask. I dont want to not ask about something and pay or it later. Anyone have a good list of questions to ask to make sure i wont have to pay extra or anything like that. It looks to good to be true and the price is also great i'm thinking it looks like around 1,000 for a recption and cemony site which includes tables chairs a place to change and possiblly clean up.

If anyone can give advice or suggestios it would be great. I'm trying to not get to excited about it and then find out something that changes my mind. I do know i have to book it in advance and i'm super early but better early than late.

heres the link if u want to look

Re: I think i found the perfect place

  • I had no clue what to ask for my wedding either. I started out by calling the place and letting them know I was interested in getting married and having my reception there. The first thing they asked was if we had a date yet (because if we did and they were already booked for that date they didnt want to waste their time.) But I asked them to make a folder up with anything that they would do for the wedding

my place gave a folder that had the prices for chairs, how much the food would cost to have a buffet or sit down meal. It went through all the rules, they gave us a print of a contract to go throught. And thats really how I started.

Because my wedding is on 4th of July we had questions about if we could have fireworks or atleast sparklers. In the contract it said that we couldnt have candies and since i had wanted a candy bar I had questions with them about if they would let us do that.

So I made a big list of everything that was in the contract that could be questionable on and made things clear with them. I asked for what all the cost covers and all the extra things that I wanted i made sure they were included in the cost or what the extra fee was.

They were very friendly but they know how a wedding works, and they knew I wanted the total truth and I wanted every question answered.

Maybe call to see what all they can help you with or if you could set up an appt with someone to discuss things.

  • ask about extra charges for parking for any hidden fees there are alot sometimes...

I sent them a email last night asking for a "packet" or email pdf's that might be useful. Hopefully i can get them soon this is the first thing i want to get done. And since it says on there site they are busy from july to oct and our date is oct 5th i want to book it very far in advance so i can feel secure about it.

Thank you two for your advice i'm at a bit of a loss. Lets hope this goes well.
