Save the date postage question

Hey knotties, this may be a dumb question, but I'm going to ask it anyway!  We are looking at postcard STDs, kind of like a 4x6 picture with the details on it, but they come with a thin envelope.  I kind of like this idea so it protects our info a little more than just sending a postcard.  Does anyone know what kind of postage is required?  If it fits the size rules of the postcard, can we use postcard stamps or is it treated as a letter when it gets an envelope?

If you put it in an envelope, it needs a regular first class stamp.

Yep, if it goes in an envelope it cost $0.44

If the postcard is at least 3-1/2 inches high x 5 inches long and no more than 4-1/2 inches high and 6 inches long it will require a $.28 stamp. This stamp can be placed directly on the postcard (no envelope needed).

If the postcard is put into an envelope it will require a $.44 stamp.

I liked the idea of an envelope too..but I opted to just send the postcard. Plus, I had already ordered cute postcard stamps from zazzle!

You should just need a regular .44 cent stamp but if you want to be totally sure take an assembled one to the post office and double check.
