RSVP

Is it rude to ask guest to RSVP via our wedding website?

Re: RSVP

  • It's not rude per se, but you may have guests who can't or won't do so, especially if they're older or are tech phobes.  My BF's mother and at least one cousin of mine fall in that category so I couldn't do it.

Paper RSVPs are appropriate every time.
  • We're planning on having people RSVP at our website so they can look at what things to do (most of our guests are from out of town and we've included important information on the website). It also helps cut down on return postage costs! I would provide a phone number if they are unable to access the website, and if you haven't heard back from them by your deadline call them and inquire.
  • I asked people to RSVP via my website and set up a simple, free online survey using SurveyMonkey. I gave a phone number people could call if they didn't have a computer. Saving paper is always good--it's good for the environment! I think it did cause people to delay their RSVP a little longer than usual though, so I am still wrangling up the last few. I sent an email out to the delinquent RSVPs a week before the deadline and got a few more that way. I am tempted to rescind the invite for the dozen who still haven't RSVP'd... I only wish...
