Half Past vs. Half After?

Hi everyone!

Our wedding will start at 5:30pm, and the ettiquite book I'm reading says that the proper invitation wording is "half after five o'clock..." vs. "half past five o'clock...". I don't want to commit a faux paus, but "half past" just seems more natural to me.

What do you think?

Half after is the standard for invitations.
