Wedding Invitations & Paper

Epic fail!

I thought I had a really brilliant money-saving plan: I made my Save the Dates in Photoshop, waited until Snapfish had a "100 prints for $1" sale and ordered a bunch of 4x6 photos of this to mail out with my Christmas cards to save postage. So, I'm feeling all smug that I got my Save the Dates for a dollar, until I realize that I designed the card before we set our official date.

Yes, I got the date wrong to my own wedding. Argh!

Re: Epic fail!

  • Thank you for the giggle. At least you only wasted $1, right?

  • Don't worry- they should be running the sale again shortly after new years. Thats exactly what I did!

  • Those STDs are great! Love them!

I almost did that. I designed my STD on Minted and when I booked my wedding, I almost ordered them as is, but at the last minute I realized I needed to change the date to the date we actually booked.

  • Thanks ladies! I feel better about it now. I had a good chuckle over it too, after the initial faceplant. I'm just going to wait for the same deal to come up again later. Most of mine I'm doing as "e-Save the Dates" anyway. The printed ones are more for older relatives and people I know won't check their email. Smile
  • I got a little laugh out of it, too - TOTALLY something I would do!

  • Oh man!  I had my entire website ready to go, but put in a fake date!  I'm glad it was only a $1.

I'd probably leave off the time since things can change between now and October!
  • If it makes you feel any better, I designed and printed my own STDs and had half of them in envelopes before I realized out of habit I wrote "2011" instead of "2012". Luckily it was only a $30 mistake. I was so mad for like, a week! Good thing you only wasted a buck!
  • If you want to save on postage, consider getting them printed thru something like overnightprints.com as postcards, postage is much cheaper than when you add an envelope...

  • That cracked me up.  Our STDs are almost ready.  We'd have them already, but I have been a terrible procrastinator when it comes to completing my wedding website.

Dancesaurus, we're wedding twins!  That is, if you ARE getting married on 10/20.
