Wedding Invitations & Paper

Paper for Programs

Any ideas on the best paper to use for my program covers for our wedding? It is still early (wedding is in Aug), but I would like to start looking. We would like a traditional program (for a church), but it should be thick. Also does anyone know if you can be cardstock that is pre-folded in the center??

Re: Paper for Programs

  • Why do you want it prefolded?  Buy a bone folder and do it yourself.  It's really easy.

You can get 110 lb. cardstock at both Sams and Walmart for a good price.
  • Keep your printing method in mind when you are buying stock. I bought nice thick coverstock for my sister's programs, only to realize that I had to hand feed the sheets into the printer. It wouldn't have been so bad if I wasn't doing it at work, where my desk is not super close to the printer. That said, I probably still would have used the same stuff because they came out really nice. It was linen finish, and it was from Staples so probably not the best price but not outrageous.
  • cardsandpockets.com has 110# coverweight paper on sale right now.

  • Thanks. Can any of these papers be folded?? I want to be able to fold the program in half.

  • Yeah.  To fold cardstock that heavy you need either a bone folder or a scorer.  I'm using it for table numbers and escort cards, and I'm scoring mine (since I have that tool and not a folder).
