Alright, I downloaded a template from Design Betty, and love it. I have been playing with the colors; changed the background to white and added the red details. I can't decide between a red "&" and a purle one, so I included a picture of each.

and I'm definitely not final on the wording, although I will glady accept any suggestions. Let me know what you think of any details; I just started playing with it yesterday so you won't hurt my feelings. Unless you say butterflies are stupid in which case I'll be crushed.

Question: How do I print this sort of thing on vistaprint? The pictures I uploaded are jpgs taken from a screen shot. The actual document is a Word document, where the design is a picture in the background and then I have the text. The layout it came in is two invites per page. I don't know how to go from that, to getting a package in the mail that doesn't require cutting. Or is that impossible and I'll just have to cut them out? I've used VP before but not uploading my own designs.
I'll only need about 50 so labor isn't the end of the world, I just want to work smarter not harder! THanks for advice on VP and on the invites themselves.
Re: Vistaprint - uploading my own invite PIP
Can you try making the file a PDF and then putting one invitation in one document?
Maybe you can call VP and see if they can help ...or go to Staples or Kinko's they will print, cut etc instead of Vista Print you can buy the paper you want
You should probably save the document as a PDF (if you don't have that as an option in Word when you scroll to the 'save as' bar, then google it, there is an add-on that you can download to let you convert from Word to PDF). Open the document in adobe (or paint) & crop out the white parts. I think you can download free versions of adobe if you don't have it or if you can't open PDFs in paint (I can't remember). Or you can always call your library & see if they have adobe on their computers. You can edit anything in adobe & keep as a PDF for easy uploading.
I like the wording but would change a couple of things. Since you are listing you and your FI's names first, I wouldn't capitalize the word together since it's not the beginning of the sentence. Also, I would capitalize the word reception. Some people will say that you don't need the "and" in the year and you don't need to specify "in the evening" but I think it's more a matter of preference.
When you upload your PDF to VP, there should be an option to crop the image. You just resize the rectangle so that your invitation fits within the dotted lines.

Cony, thank you for the tips! You're very right. I capitalized "Together" thinking it was the beginning of the sentence, but you're right it's not. Also, I'd already capitalized "Reception" by the time you posted this, because that's right too. AND I'm so glad you mentioned the "and" in the date; that's incorrect mathematically speaking and I know better.
Thanks everybody! I'm leaning towards the purple too; just trying to find a balance between making it light and pretty without making the white text hard to read.
