invitation wording HELP!!!

So I am wanting to invite my cousin who wants his invite to be sent to his dads house. The problem is his dad has a new wife with 3 other kids at that residence. I've never met any of his new family. Our space is limited and I really just want my uncle, his new wife and my cousin to come. How should I word this? Is it ok to say "Mr and Mrs Doe and John"? What is appropriate?

If your cousin is over 18 he should be sent his own invitation.

You're under no obligation to invite the kids, but if you're inviting everyone else's kids I could see there being some hurt feelings. If you can find a way, it would be very gracious of you to include them.

  • Send your cousin a separate invite. One for "Mr. and Mrs. Doe" and one for "John Doe".

However, please reconsider inviting the 3 other kids, especially if your cousin is the same age as them, as it might cause hurt feelings.
