Wedding Invitations & Paper

Paper for Invitations

I am having such a difficult time finding good paper to use to print out my invitations. I bought some 110lb white cardstock and that seemed too flimsy. I'm going to try to look in a scrapbooking store this weekend to see what they carry but I was curious what kind of paper anyone else who printed their own invitations used.
TIA!

Re: Paper for Invitations

  • We used 90lb cream card stock for the invitations and I thought it was fine. For the programs, we used 110lb for the covers and our printer could barely handle it. 130lb stock is usually the heaviest you can find but that's practically cardboard, and if you are using a home printer, it might not be able to handle it.

  • Look in the artist supply section of Michaels/Joanns/Hobby Lobby.  They have pads of high quality pads there.  Using one of their store coupons, it should be really inexpensive.
  • I printed on lighter paper and then mounted on thicker, textured cardstock from Michaels. That way I didn't have to worry about my printer handling thicker paper.
