Wedding Invitations & Paper

Maps

Has anyone drawn their own maps for their invitations? I'm thinking of doing it but need a little inspiration...

Re: Maps

  • Yes.  I used the directions on WeddingMapper.com, but I ended up redoing it in Photoshop.  The roads I needed were mostly all curves and putting the text in with it was REALLY tough to get right in word or powerpoint.  It ended up taking me about 6 hours.

If yours is mostly on a grid, it should be a lot easier.

  • I'm using google maps and then Powerpoint. To be honest, it's really annoying. I am thinking about giving up and just doing a "Directions" insert without a map or paying someone to do it.

    I used squirrly's directions and these http://thediybride2010.blogspot.com/

  • I copied a google map and pasted in powerpoint, drew over the map and deleted the map when I was done.  I used two different maps (zoom in and zoom out).  I downloaded the icons and "Pinehurst" font from http://kevinandamanda.com/fonts/fontsforpeas. They have really cute fonts.  After I was finished, I saved it as a PNG file and uploaded it to our website.
