Wedding Invitations & Paper

Capital Letters?

Hello Everyone- I have never posted on invites and paper before, but wanted to say hello since I do have a question.

I read through a LOT of posts on here- but I didn't see one specifically to my question, so I do apologize if this has been posted before.

I'm trying to finalize my invitation wording tonight. I've looked through pictures of a lot of invitations and wanted opinions. Are you ladies capitalizing just about every first letter of the words on your invites?

I've seen ones that capitalize "One Thirty in the Afternoon", "Request the Honor of Your Presence", etc. Do you know what I mean?

I like the look of not capitlizing almost every word- but wanted to see if there was a suggested or right way of doing that. Thank you!

request the honour of your presence
at the marriage of their daughter
    First Middle Last
    to
    First Middle Last
    son of
    Mr. and Mrs. (Fi's parents)
on Saturday, the fifth of March
    Two thousand and eleven
    at one-thirty in the afternoon

[QUOTE]Your capitolization is fine. You shouldn't list your last name or FI's.  Because you're listening both sets of parents names, it'd redundant to have them after yours (and FIs).

Actually, the T in two shouldn't be capitalized - the year isn't a proper noun.

  • And it should be half after one, not one-thirty
