Wedding Invitations & Paper

Wait...so I need 3 invites and a RSVP card?? Need Advice

Background Story...

Original date was March 21, 2010....then family started fighting over stupid stuff w/ nonstop drama.  So...

Me and my guy decided to have wedding at honeymoon site instead, but realized that could cause more hurt feelings.   To compromise: we will have our dream beach legal wedding on March 23 at honeymoon site in FL.  Come back home to Arkansas, take a break and have a vow renewal and reception three weeks later on April 18.
*******
Do we still need to invite everyone as a courtesy to Florida for the beach wedding? (we live 10 hours away and majority of our guest do too, so chances are slim that someone maybe able to come, but someone may be able to)

I have read a lot of books on invites and they all seem to say different things.  The vow renewal is going to be at a park and the reception is going to a restaurant.  So I do need two different cards correct?

And on RSVP cards.  Is it ok to put an option on there saying "sorry, but I can NOT make it", that why there is no wondering on my end?

I'm so sorry to ask so many questions!  I'm just so stressed with all the different answers I've been reading!

  • If you want to welcome everyone to your wedding then invite them to that event and a reception following it.

If you're also having the vow renewal and reception on a different day, that's a full other mailing.  The response cards just need to have a check off for __accepts or __declines.
  • Ditto banana. She's awesome.

  • Thank you all so much!!

The beach wedding would just be that and no reception.  So if we invite people, will there be an assumption that other things will be paid for?   Maybe we should just pass the word around that the beach ceremony is not a private one instead.
  • If you're not hosting anything after the beach wedding then don't invite anyone to it.  Just issue invitations to the reception then.
