S/O name changes

How long did it take to get your marriage certificate with the seal and all?  I know it's only been 10 days and I won't be changing my name until November (weird intricacies for work timing, etc) but I was just curious if I should follow up with my priest to make sure he sent them in!

I actually had to mail a check for $3.50 to the courthouse where I got my license from with a little not stating my name and DH's name.  They are going to send me what I need.  I'm not sure anyone else had to do this though?  I remember mentioning it to Dori, and she had no idea what I was talking about.

I did mine in Washington County. Our priest gave us the copy without the seal (make copies of it before you send it out!). I had to either come into the courthouse to get the seal put in (only after the priest had submitted his portion) or send it to the courthouse with a SASE. You didn't just receive it automatically. I think it might be the same in Allegheny. You have to request the one with the seal. I waited til we were back from the HM and mailed it in. I just assumed the priest had sent it already. You can always call your priest to check on it.

I think you could submit the form, $$, etc now.  I would be surprised if they priest had not sent it in yet.

Wait, you did get the non-seal one from the priest the day of, right?  If not, I would call ASAP!

From the time I mailed in my $10 money order to when I received the triple sealed license was only about 2 weeks. Remember, I am OOT too, but it was quick. Have you sent away for this yet, or are you referring to the one from your priest like KR mentioned?

Sorry for the P&R--work distractionsOk, so the day of the wedding, I received a non-sealed paper from the priest (sorry, I don't have it with me, so I'm assuming what you are talking about).  I'll go home and check it out.  If that's the right thing, then your saying I can just send Allegheny county the form and $$ and they'll send me what I need for name changes, etc?I feel like this is the one thing (probably most important) that I've not paid attention to!

I actually took the license that we had signed by the priest to the SS office, I don't know that I ever received an "official" one although my license wasn't from Allegheny Co.

That was the one nice thing about Philadelphia County. They sent you your triple seal license without you actually needing to contact them after the wedding. You had to give them a SASE when you applied and they used that to mail your sealed license to you.
