Wedding Invitations & Paper

They spelled my name wrong!

Let me start off by saying this is just a vent because my FI thinks it's funny and I'm overreacting.  We are DIY our own invites and began to collect everything we need because we are both teachers and plan on doing them this summer.  I ordered ribbons and monogram stickers to make my own belly bands and I got them today.  Guess what- they spelled my name wrong on the monogram. I immediately freaked out and called the company.  They are going to send new ones but I'm still kinda ticked.  How does a company mail out a personalized order without checking the spelling!

Re: They spelled my name wrong!

  • It happens all the time.  As long as they are replacing it, no big deal.
  • I don't know how it happens, but it does! My mom's friends are throwing our engagement party, and sent me the proof of the invite to check spelling - my fiancé's name is German and hard to spell. It was correct, and she approved the proof.

The invites came to the main hostess and they had spelled his last name wrong - they had somehow replaced the first letter of his last name. She immediately emailed them the proof that they sent and they are correcting it, but it blew both our minds and theirs. The printer still can't figure out how it happened.

  • that sucks! a person's name is incredibly important to them and should always be given a double or even triple check, esp for an event like a wedding!
  • I know in the grand scheme of things it's minor and will get fixed but I'm ticked over it.

  • Even if they're replacing it, I'd still be annoyed too but don't let it stress you out! [:

  • Ugh that's frustrating.  Did you double check it wasn't somehow mistakenly misspelled somewhere in your contract?

    I'm sure it'll be fixed!
