Wedding Invitations & Paper

Map Insert

Hi ladies,

Do any of you know how to put a map on a stock card.
My DIY kit did not come with extra paper for insert but I was just going to get a stock card to match my invite to put maps on it.

I typed in the address on google map and I can't figure out how to get it to be small enough so I can just put it on a reply card size. It also won't let me cut and paste. I need to make 2, one for the ceremony and for reception or should they be on one paper?

Thanks

Re: Map Insert

  • You can click your printscreen button, then insert the google map image into an editing program (word, powerpoint, publisher, photoshop, etc) and shrink it down.
  • For whatever reason, I can't copy the map to my word document. I tried the google map still doesn't work.
I tried the wedding mapper. It says that I can copy and paste. I pressed the alt and print screen button as was suggested on the site but it doesn't work.

    any other ideas?
  • Did you use printscreen?  You just go back into your word document and hit ctrl+v and the entire screen shot should paste right on it.  Then you can crop it down so the only part showing is the google map.

    <div>Hey there,</div><div>
</div><div>So what I did was I zoomed it on the location then clicked print. Then on another window it gives me the zoomed location but I can't copy and paste it on the word. I presses ctrl -v, it doesn't do anything. i tried copying the image it won't let me do that.</div><div>I can possibly print it on a 5x7 card but that's me changing the paper size. </div><div>It still has some writing on top from google which I why I wanted to copy and paste to a word document. </div><div>The ctrl -v doesn't do anything it just paste whatever linked i copied before.</div><div>
    </div><div>
    </div>
  • Not print.  There should be a button on your keyboard labeled "PrntScr" or something similar to that.  It takes a screenshot of whatever is currently on your computer.  Then when you paste onto your document, the entire screenshot will appear.  Then you can crop it.

This should be the image that gets pasted onto your document.

Then you can crop it, so that just the map is showing.

    Does that make sense?

<div>Yeah I tried that. I  don't know my print screen button doesnt do anything rather it actually just zooms out the map. I even tried it on my desktop still does not work. </div><div>I don't know if it matters but both laptop and desktop I have is not hooked up to the printer at the moment.</div>
  • having it hooked up to the printer wont matter.  Are you holding the function key down while hitting the print screen button? Some just let you do print screen, but some require the function (Fn) key.

check out etsy.com for ideas on what you can do with your map aside from just copying a google map.

I would but both locations on the same map.
