TY Card Etiquette

Our photo thank you cards are finally ordered and on their way.  Now comes the fun of addressing them.  A few of my cousins (who live at home but are over 18) went in of a gift with their parents and gave only 1 card.   Do I send 2 thanks yous (1 to the parent, 1 to the child) or do I send 1 to the house with both of their names on it.

If it's a younger adult and they signed the same card with their parents, I would probably just send one thank you to the house where they all live to everyone that signed the card.  

If it were an older adult living at home, or adult child that lived separate from parents, or something like adult siblings going in together, I would feel differently.  With a younger adult, I'd pretty much assume that the parents got the gift and just had the adult child sign the card.  If I were close to the adult child, I might consider writing separate ones.  

I'm thinking in terms of if my aunt and uncle who gave a gift and signed their names along with my cousins, one of whom was 17.  If he had turned 18 before the wedding, I wouldn't have changed the way I thanked them.

I sent one TY card to the family.  This only occurred twice on our card list.  If it's an older person, out of college, but living at home still, I would give them separate TYs.

Thanks I'm going to send 1 to the family since the 3 in question are still college students.  I too assume the gifts are from my aunts and uncles and they just signed the kids' names.
