How to word invitation - restricted access - military base

Hey there... so we are civilians getting married on a military base (sooo much cheaper $$$$).  However, for my guests to gain access the day of the wedding, I need to know Exactly who is coming so I can supply the names to the front gate.

How do I communicate that to my guests in the invite that any "surprise" guests will not be admitted?

Thanks!

  • Just curious, but which military base?  We were debating on getting married at Tyndall.

Try the military brides board.  A lot of them get married on military bases.
  • Why would posting on the military board give her any extra info Navy??

I would maybe put a bolded note on the RSVP cards that due to security at the base, those planning to attend must give notice by the RSVP date, or cannot be included on the list and will not be permitted on the base.

Because I know a lot of them get married on base so she can see an example of what they said.  Not saying the people over here can't help her, but she might be able to get even more info over there.
  • I am getting married on a Navy base in San Diego, I have to have a guest list that matches the adult's id, this has to be to the base 2 weeks before the wedding.
I made a note on the RSVP along with a line for the guests correct name and spelling so they are aware this is a requirement.  I also made a note that all in attendance will need a proper ID to gain access to the base.
  • In response to NavyBaby.. .we are getting married at Ocean Breeze Conference Center.  They just remodelled the room and are finishing up the outdoor patio.  there are huge windows overlooking the ocean and a small wooden bridge leading you out to the beach (which is where we are saying our vows).  It is so beautiful, but so hard to find info about it online.  I went there because I was curious and fell in love.  It was the first venue I looked at and the right price.  :)

Thanks so much for the info everyone.  It;s just like me to make things more difficult... everyone keeps asking why Im getting married on a Military base since neither one of us are military....  the money we are saving is incredible.  no sales tax and the gratuity is 4% less than non military venues.
