Wedding Invitations & Paper

Help with invitation wording

Getting married in a private ceremony with immediate family on a Friday night. Planning a party on Saturday night for our friends. Want to make it known on invite that this is not a wedding; that we will have been married the previous night. How would you word this? Technically it's not a wedding reception, it's a one-day anniversary celebration, LOL.

Also, do youbthinkmits OK if I wear my wedding dress to the Saturday party?

Re: Help with invitation wording

  • You could call it a "celebration of marriage."
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • I wouldn't wear the dress. I'd probably side-eye you if you did.
  • For as much as you are probably paying for that dress, I say go ahead and wear it.  I don't know anyone who would side-eye you.  It's only a day later.
  • If this event is one day after the wedding, I wouldn't have a problem with wearing your dress to it.
