STD in Christmas cards

We're getting ready to send our STD's in Christmas cards.  Do we need to address them formally like we will for the invitations or can they just be how Christmas cards would normally be addressed?

I'm going to disagree with the PP and say you should list exactly who is invited on the invites. If you address it to "The Jones Family", but really only want Mr. and Mrs. Jones and not their 5 kids at the wedding, they may assume that the entire family is invited based on the save the date.

 No one will think it's odd to see their names on the Christmas card, and it may save you some trouble down the road.
