This is my second wedding, my fiance's first, and we are paying for it all ourselves (retired parents on a fixed income, etc.). We are desperately trying to keep costs down because we'd like to have a really nice honeymoon rather than a huge expensive wedding/reception. My question is this: Is it tacky to print wedding invitations myself? Like, get one of those kits from Office Depot or something and do it on my home printer? When I type this out, I feel ashamed, like it's the cheesiest thing in the world, but my rationale is that invitations and flowers are the most diposable things about weddings that can afford to be "skimped" on the most. People throw them away. Why waste hundreds of dollars on really nice invitations that will just end up in people's trash cans? I need opinions from the group...and please, be nice to me.
