Addressing thank-you cards

Hello!

I'm wanting to get a jump-start on addressing thank-you cards. Now, for the reuturn address on our RSVPs, I did:

A. Lastname and S. Lastname

I'm hyphenating my surname though, and it will be quite long (21 characters, including the hyphen). What should I do? What's proper?

Thanks!

  • You don't need the names, only the address.  Just leave the names off.

I would keep using your own names and surnames up until the wedding, and then after that, use A. Lastname-Lastname and S. Lastname. As long as the "and" is in there between your names, it will indicate who you are and that you are married.  You can even put your names with "and" after one or before the other on separate lines if you need to, as in:

    A. Lastname-Lastname and
    S. Lastname

    or

    A. Lastname-Lastname
    and S. Lastname
  • Agree with Peavy.  Just use the address, no names needed.
  • Thanks everyone!

One more question: where does the return address go on the envelope; the top left corner on the front, or on the flap on the back?
