No-Photo STDs

So I know a lot of people use their engagement photos in their STDs. But I fell in love with these really cute cards but there's no way to incorporate a photo. Should I put one in the envelope as an addition? I mean it's not like the people I'm sending them to don't know what we look like but it seems appropriate for some family and friends to add a photo. What should I do? Send one to family members and close friends?

Re: No-Photo STDs

  • Our STDs didn't have our picture because we hadn't gotten them taken yet and they needed to go out.  It isn't a big deal.  We are really excited about our E-pics so one way we are 'showing them off' is by sending a Christmas/holiday card with one of them on the front.  That way our close family and friends get to have a picture since we couldn't incorporate them into the STDs.

Also, you have several months before your STD's need to go out (unless you are having a DW) so you may change your mind by the time you need to order them.

  • I would say it depends on how the photo matches your Save-The-Date Invitation.  I was going to use a photo of me "tying the knot" (his necktie), but the photo did not fit the invitation, so I scrapped it.  And, I saved the money!
Is the wedding formal or casual.  One thing my stationer advised me is the "billboard" look, meaning plastering photo's all over the place.  It's a wedding and not a gallery opening.
That said, when I ordered my Bridal Stationery, I did NOT include our photo's.  I ordered 200, and will probably use 100, but unlike a photo note, I can use these for the rest of the duration to write a note to anyone.  They will follow me the rest of my life!  (again, saved on money in the long run).  After looking at my grandmothers, great-grandmothers, and mothers "wedding wardrobe," I wanted to stick with tradition, as my grandmother is still using the same notes she used for her wedding day.....of course, she has reordered over the years!

    Hope this helped
