Wedding Invitations & Paper

::squirrly::

I was looking through your bio and I love your invites! I'm having a watermelon and tangerine wedding and I would love you know where you got the pink paper for your invites.

TIA!

  • NP.  Cards and pockets is pretty easy to work with, I think, but it's worth it to keep an eye out for sales if you have the time.

    JoAnn Fabric actually has the exact same stuff in 8x5x11 if you want to pick up a couple sheets to play with.

  • I never would have thought to look at JoAnn, thanks!

    I basically want to switch the colors on your invite (use black for the pocket and pink for boarder layer) but I'm afraid to order paper online. What if the pink isn't the "right" pink? But yours looks perfect!

  • They have a color swatch deck that's $15.  http://www.cardsandpockets.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=116

    But, if you just wanted to check the colors you're interested in, you could spend a lot less:

    Watermelon, Fuschia, Clementine, Apricot, and Tuscan Sun.  They're 35 cents each.  They're small, like half an index card, but true to color.  We used fuschia, onyx, and snow white.  The Onyx is a metallic black - if you want flat, go with Black Tie.

  • Oh - I think if you use the metallic papers, the color is a bit more forgiving.  The iridescence makes it match a couple of shades instead of just one.  I actually ordered the swatch deck and one pocketfold in fuschia, and then just matched everything else from that.  It was pretty easy, I think.  Now, I'm sure not all the pinks are 100% perfect, but they're darn close.  Most of it has a bit of sparkle, though, which is forgiving.

    Don't stress - it will be fine.  Promise.
