Wedding Invitations & Paper

No inner envelope

I need suggestions on how to address invitations to "John Smith and Guest" without an inner envelope.  I bought DIY invitations and they don't have inner envelopes!  I know this question was asked a few days ago on this board, but I'm wondering if there are any suggestions other than:

Mrs. Jane Doe
Guest
123 Sesame Street
Anycity, State
ZIP

because that just doesn't look right to me.  I'm thinking my other option would be to go buy larger envelopes to use as the outer envelope, but I don't really want to do that, either.

Help!

Re: No inner envelope

  • You can include a note letting Jane know that she is more than welcome to bring a guest, and to please rsvp with that info.

Of course, if Jane has a significant other, you should find out his name. Then include his name on the envelope below hers.

  • Ditto Kristen.  You can also call her in advance and ask who her guest will be, even if it's not her SO.
