Postcard Response Cards??

Is it tacky to do my response cards in post card form? They just seem so much easier/cheaper/more practical all around. I don't want to take away from the classiness of my DIY invitation (that i'm VERY proud of :)) At the same time, I think the post card option would be funky and different. Thoughts??

Re: Postcard Response Cards??

  • I used postcard RSVPs, so obviously I don't think they are tacky.

I think they are a little more casual than one in an envelope, but not by much.
  • Mine were RSVP postcards from Vistaprint. I didnt like the rsvp card with the envelope that came with my invitations, so i changed it up with the free postcards from vistaprint.

  • I'll be DIY my invites as well, planning on doing postcards for the RSVP. One it'll save on postage for getting the response cards back and the invites as a whole will be lighter by not needing the extra envelope. Not tacky at all.
    Good luck!

  • Not tacky, but less formal, certainly.

If you want to dress them up a little, I'd try a heavier cardstock so they feel more substantial than just a flimsy regular postcard.
  • We haven't placed our order yet, but when one card store did the tough sell on us that RSVPs in envelopes weren't really that much more expensive, I was all the more convinced postcard RSVPs were for us. Postcard, not letter, stamps, and no third envelope. (We are doing inner and outer envelopes.)
  • I've just ordered mine.  I think it is more economical, casual and people will be more likely to pop it back into the mail because it's easier.....

  • We used postcards.  Our invite was pretty formal otherwise, which I think made up for it.
