late 20's single never married
late 20's single divorced (changed name back to maiden)
late 20's/early 50's divorced (keeps married name)
early 50's in the middle of divorce
early 50's never married
widowed grandmothers never remarried
My mom and I came to the conclusion that everyone should be Ms and no "miss" if they are single. I kinda always thought Miss was pre-marriage and Ms was post. Unless they never married but kinda graduated to Ms due to age. And what age? But what about the widowed grandmothers? Should they still be Mrs? And the couple of women that are in the middle of a divorce? Mrs or Ms? I know they are technically still a Mrs., but we think at least one of them would HATE being called Mrs right now. Ughhh.... this is so annoying. Save-the-dates go out next week. I might just address those informally with names and surnames for now and skip the title.
