Wedding Invitations & Paper

Venue changed names-do I need to redo?

Recently my venue was bought by new owners and they changed the name.  It was Royal Oak and now it is Stillmeadow. I have not made my invitations yet, but I have printed the direction cards, and they say Royal Oak on them. The invite will say Stillmeadow Country Club.  My first reactions was to redo them, but they were SO time consuming.  They are printed on expensive metallic cardstock, I had to lay each sheet out to dry separately for days.  Then they took forever and a day to cut.  What should I do? Remake them? Not worry about it? I am leaning towards remaking them but I'm not sure. TIA!

  • That is a good idea, I hadn't thought about that! Thanks!

  • I agree, just make a simple insert stating that the name was changed, and you should be good.
  • Eh I'd probably re-do them but I'm compulsive like that.  As a guest I wouldn't think twice about an extra insert, but as a bride it would bug me when I scrapbooked with it later.

  • I'd redo them. For me, it would be important for it to be right. And while I get that they were a pain to make, if you're so far in advance that you haven't even ordered invitations yet, you've got plenty of time to redo them.
  • It will probably take just as long to make an insert as it would to redo the reception cards. I think you'll have a lot of confused guests and a lot of phone calls if you include the wrong address on the card, even with the inserts. Redo them :)

Tip - cut the paper before printing, then set your printer to the new paper size. It makes things a lot easier!
