return address labels for response card envelopes?

I am wondering about using return address labels for the response card envelopes. We are inviting 200+ people and writting my name and address over and over again would be very tiring! lol I am also not sure how to print smaller envelopes yet on a home computer and I don't want to pay to get them done. What does everyone think about using the labels on the response card envelope? Would it be ok to use them on there? Could I do that? Or would it be tacky? I have return address labels that would be perfect for them and I got some of them for free from Vistaprint.com. These labels are personalized by me and match our invitations. Some people are saying that it would be tacky, others think its a good idea. I am not sure what to do.

Re: return address labels for response card envelopes?

  • Return addresses on RSVP envelopes aren't strictly required, but mailing addresses are, of course, and they're your address.  I did wrap around labels on ours as they're black envelopes and I couldn't write or print on them due to the color.  Pictures and templates in my bio.

  • I'm pretty sure the vendor we are going with prints the return labels as an extra cost. An alternative to a label might be to use a stamp. You can get them from Visaprint pretty cheap and it might look nicer because there is no outline (of the stamp)- just the text. We were thinking of doing that as well if it's going to save us a lot of $$

  • Ok, so would you use them or wouldn't you? lol I am looking to use them as labels with my address on them. (addressing them to myself basically). There is no border on them, so I think that it would look ok, but I need other opinions.
  • I was planning on doing it the same way. Sticking my cute labels on the RSVP cards... but now.... GAH... I hate indecisive me!

Hope someone clarifies for us both!

  • I don't like plain labels for wedding mailings, really.  So, I did wraparounds because I had black envelopes & couldn't find any pens that wrote well on them.  As such, I used my parents (an hour away) as the return addy on the rsvps, just in case something got lost - since wraparounds pretty much mandate a return address.

Other than that, I don't see any need for them.

  • I don't think there is anything wrong with that, and I think very few if any people receiving your invitation would even have an opinion on it one way or another, assuming they're not Rockefellers or something...
