Our invitations came with plain white envelopes that are the size of the invitation. Any ideas how to decorate them to make them look better? We are doing a fall theme if this helps.
I don't know why you would want to decorate them - it will just make them harder for the post office to deliver, and you will likely get a lot returned to you (or lost forever) if the postal sorting machines can't read the addresses because they are trying to read the decorations instead. Address them, put a fancy stamp on it if you must, and be done with it.
You can take stamps and make a small corner borders of leaves and one going across the top of the back flap. I did this with stars for our STD envelopes - and none were returned.
Maybe reconsider spending time on something that is on a one way trip to the garbage can. No one else will care what your envelopes look like and the PO will love you for keeping them plain.
I like the stamp idea, putting a few leaves in the bottom left corner of the front and maybe on the top center of the back. You can use different inkpads to get different fall colors
