Dumb question about stamps

If your wedding invitation outer envelopes require two stamps, does it matter if you put the stamps side by side on the envelope or one above the other? 

I know that stamps go in the upper right hand corner of the envelope, but when using more than one stamp, does it matter how you place them? Thanks!

I'm 90% sure it doesn't matter how you place them. Personally, I like side by side better. and if the post office did have a preference, I think it would be side by side.

P.S. - the only questions that are dumb are those that are not asked.

Also, if you take it to the PO, you can probably get a wedding stamp.  I got $.65 wedding stamps.  Plus, depending on how your invites are put together, you may not need more than one stamp, so definitely go to the PO and ask.  You should get out cheaper than just two regular stamps regardless.

Have it weighed.  My invite is only needing one stamp.  Also you can get a .65 wedding stamp which would save you money over the two .45 cent stamps.

I had mine weighed this weekend at the post office and needed a $.65 stamp.  The post office guy was trying to sell me a .45 and a .20, but they were ugly.  I asked if they had any .65 stamps and he said no, but another customer in line told us about the bridal/wedding stamps you can order online. (and some of the post offices carry).  they are MUCH nicer.
