RSVP Address

We are paying for our wedding on our own... is it still necessary to send RSVPs to my parent's house? Is there another reason for it?

Yes, you send an invitation to all the invited guests, including your parents.  I doubt the extra $5 it is going to cost to send an invite to your parents is going to break the bank.  Besides, most parents love this kind of stuff.

ETA:  Nevermind, I totally read that wrong, I though you were asking if you needed to send an invite to your parents.  In answer to your question, no you can send them to yourself.  I think 99% of brides do this.
  • We were in the same situation as you & we had our RSVP's mailed back to us. Since I was the once taking care of seating & meal selections, it made the most sense for them to come back to us.

  • Whoever is issuing the invitation should receive the RSVP card back.

A common way to figure this out is - Whatever address is on the flap of the envelope for the invitation (the outer envelope), should match the address on the RSVP envelope.  It would be too confusing to have 1 address on the envlope for the invitation and another address on the envelope for the RSVP card.
