Pocketfold inside flap: hiding ribbon edges, velcro

I'm about done putting together my DIY mockup of my pocketfold-style invitation. I will also wrap a thick piece of ribbon around the outside using monogrammed & matted cardstock as a "buckle" of sorts on the outside center. This helps cover the first edge of the ribbon wraparound, but I am still not sure how the other end of the ribbon that ends on the inside flap will look best.

Does this make sense? What have other people done?

Also I am probably going to use two teensy pieces of velcro on the inside top and bottom of the monogram buckle to keep the invitation shut. What have you used?

Thanks!
Darcy

Re: Pocketfold inside flap: hiding ribbon edges, velcro

  • Depending on how your pocketfold is configured, some people tuck that other end into the pocket, but that only works if the folded over edge that makes the "bottom" of the pocket is actually a vertical/side edge of the finished pocketfold.  (Mine is the other direction - I couldn't reasonably do that.  PIB.)

  • I did a belly band that slides off the edge of the invite (pictures in bio)  Therefore the ribbon was held between the white and silver square  on the seal.
