Wedding Invitations & Paper

The registry...in the invite or not?

Hey everyone! So I have been wondering does it matter if your wedding registry is sent out to guests with the wedding invitation? I have been researching online and some think it is tacky while others do not and say that ones registry should be on a wedding website that the bride and groom creates. I personally do not want to take on managing a website because I do not have the time to constantly update it.

I feel as though adding the registry to the invitations is convenient but at the same time I don't want guests to think we are saying gee come to my wedding and don't forget the gift because thats not the case, if someone wants to get something so be it and if not thats fine too.

So what do you guys think? For those who are already married or have sent out invitations, what did you guys do?

Thank you =)

Re: The registry...in the invite or not?

  • No registry on the invites. Its is tacky. Tell your immediate family where you are registered and you/they can spread it via word of mouth ONLY if people ask.

Registry info on the shower invites is okay so a lot of people will probably already know from that.
  • It's rude to put that on the invitation or anywhere in the contents of what you mail to guests.

The idea of a registry isn't  a new concept.   The guests will figure it out.
  • No registry info in the invitations.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • Don't include registry info with the wedding invitations.  It is acceptable  for whoever is hosting your shower (if you are having one) to include registry info in shower invitations, as showers are gift-giving events.
  • Registry information never goes in wedding invitations.

No. Definitely do not add it. It can be spread by word of mouth.
