Wedding Invitations & Paper

Embosser Etiquette

I want to order an embosser for our wedding invitations--- I love the monogramm idea so I can use it once we are married as well.

My question is, is it wrong to order one with our last name on it even if we are not married yet to use on the wedding invitations?

I have a stamp I am using for other things, and that only has our first names and address, no last name or initial, so I didn't want to get something that is the same.

PLEASE HELP! :)

  • yeah, don't do it.  can you just get an embosser plate w/ your address only?  the embosser i got has removeable plates so you only buy the embosser once, and then can use different plates with it.  so you could get one for the wedding invites, and then one w/ your married name to use after the wedding.
