how much would you or did you spend on your wedding invitations?

My fiance and I don't really have a set budget. But I was just wondering, how much would you spend or how much did you spend? (:

There is a wide variety in price, because there are so many different ways to print.  My thermography invitations are $5.50, which is fairly expensive but I love stationary. I'm spending $600 for invitations and RSVP cards.  Once I add escort cards and programs, I think it's going to be around $800 total.  You definitely don't have to spend this much though, there are beautiful DIY kits out there, and less expensive companies too.  All depends on what style you're looking for.

oh my goodness... That's so much money to spend on invitations!  I totally get the whole "wedding on a budget" thing.  That's why my fiance and I have been doing things the cheapest way possible.

I've found that Vistaprint.com is super helpful.  You can design what you want how you want it and it's all relatively cheap.  In fact, you can get a number of things for free!  I'm actually in the process of getting 100 FREE postcards which are our Save the Dates!  It's seriously my new favorite website.  I'm paying less than $15 for them and it's just for the shipping.  Give it a shot!  Maybe it's not your thing, but it's worth it to try, right?  And they'll send you frequent emails with more deals for more free things too.

Good luck!  I hope this helps!  Congratulations!

We were on a super tight budget and went with vistaprint. We got 200 invites and 100 thank yous for about $80. I loved the design and was a perfect fit with my wedding colors and theme. That makes a difference. I would have spent a little more if I hadn't found what I wanted. They also replaced my order when my neighbor stole my first shipment. It was returned later that week and when I called to cancel the second order they rushed and gave me free, they said keep it with their congratulations. So I support this company because the amazing customer service.

We went with the print-your-own from Target. Spent maybe $100 on 200 invites, including reply cards and envelopes

I am also trying to keep invitations/RSVP sets low.  I wanted something kind of unique.  There are lots of unique wedding invitations on Etsy.com, both they design - you print, or they design/print.

Letterpress was by far the most expensive, starting at $8 per set and up.

I'm aiming to spend around $5 per set (set = invitation, envelope, RSVP postcard), but I only have about 30 invitations to mail.  That's $150 total.

I am also on a budget, but I have very expensive taste. Since the two don't go together so well, I found a website called Cards and Pocket. I can order all the expensive paper products like the designer stores use, but at a fraction of what they charge. So I'm still going to have the store do the printing, so I'm at $200 for 80, pocket invites with 2 mounts, 3 inserts, 2 monograms, belly bands and envelopes. We are doing an RSVP postcard to save money on the postage and envelope.

So we are designing them exactly like the $800 ones the designer store quoted us. Pictures will be soon to follow.... :)

We spent around $400 for layered invitations, one enclosure, our RSVP card, plus the mailing envelope and the RSVP envelope.  We got 100 sets, so about $4.00 each.

We used Jen from http://www.designerjen.org and loved her!

We're also spending another $200 on programs, table numbers, and escort cards.

[QUOTE]We spent a lot on our wedding stationery - for invitations, programs, tables numbers, and escort cards, our total was about $11,000.  <strong>For just the invitations, I think they came out to be $49 per invite. </strong> Stationery is something I just love, so I knew we'd want to spend a lot on the invites and paper products. I worked at a stationery shop for many years, and the most budget conscious brides spent about 4 dollars per invitation, so there is a big range in price depending on what you want.

We spent $550 for 175 invitation suites and will probably spend close to $700 all in. We are printing our own programs and menus.

$80 for invitations AND Rsvps (that was with a 50% coupon from VP). I REALLY wanted the matching envelopes so it was another $80. I splurged on stamps and got the personalized stamp of our pic in 64c so that was a good $100. We ordered 70 (needed 61). My budget was $400 for invites and I only spent $260 so I was happy!

I designed my invitations myself and am having them letterpressed and foil stamped.  They worked out to be a little over $5/each.  I was so excited to find this great printer in California, because I really thought letterpress was out of my price range.  They will be wrapped with a lace doily and tied with baker's twine.

Invitations by Dawn also has good deals. You can custom design for under $100 for 100 invites

I've found working with someone who designs them for you give you a lot more flexibility in price. We're doing 100 invitations suites, and including her fee to design them our range is from $500-900 depending on if we want offset printing, letterpress or a combo of both.  I think in the end we'll spend about $900 on invitations, and our save the dates were $150 and were designed by the same person.

We are planning on getting invites from Joann's, along with most of the rest of our stationary. We may get our STDs from Staples if we don't do photo post cards. Including pstage and with the use of coupons, we are planning on spending only $250 on invites, programs, and postage. That's about a dollar a person! Your invites can be as fancy or as cheep as you want and can afford. We just want people to know we're getting married and show up. It is not that important to have pocketfolds or ribbon or caligraphy for us.

I got mine on clearance at Walmart.  They cost a grand total of $30.00 for 100 invites, rsvps, thank yous, and all the envelopes.  They're cute and they match my color scheme.

It's all up to you how much you want to spend on invites.  There is such a wide range out there.

wedding paper divas - i was skeptical at first because it was online - but they are fantastic and such great quality. And I paid $185 for 115 invites and envelopes - including shipping to Canada. :)

We have only ordered save-the-dates so far, but have our invitations picked out. We looked at weddingpaperdivas.com as well and really liked what they had, but didn't find exactly what we had in mind. We were able to order samples for a small cost, which was nice. We ended up deciding on stationary from the bridal salon where I bought my dress (a small salon in McHenry, IL - Kathryn's), and the stationary is made by William Arthur (you can buy from them online directly... We just got a discount since I bought my dress there). When it's all said and done, our wedding stationary was quoted to cost $3200 for 125 sets (250 guests).

I'm DIYing my invitation suite and everything, and it'll probably turn out to be $3 for the suite at 100 invites. That includes invitations, RSVP cards, direction & accomodation enclosures, and the envelopes.

Instead of individual programs, which ultimately end up as trash, we're going to do a big chalkboard or something with everyone in the bridal party's information, We don't have a complicated ceremony, so we don't really see the need for an itinerary.

And as for escort cards, I think we'll do something different like keys with tags on them or giant gummy bears with people's names in their arms.
