Wedding Invitations & Paper

DIY invitations from Michaels

i was at Michaels today and saw they have already made invites that you can print yourself. Has anyone used these? I was wondering how they came out. I don't want to mess them up then have to buy professional ones.

  • We did this and they came out great. Full disclosure though- FI is a graphic designer so he had special programs to design them with but I know other people who have used them without a problem.

  • Do it!!!!
We got a similar type of inviation(ours from target) and i couldn't be happier!!

They wer basically idiot proof, came with test sheets so you could make sure they were perfect before printing on the actual thing!

Go for it, if you love the invitations and it is surely going to save you some money, its a win win situation!!!

Make sure you have coupons to use on them, michaels ALWAYS has coupons, I never buy there without a coupon!!
  • I used them and they came out gorgeous! Of course, I changed the template & font and added little touches of custom ribbon with our names & wedding date, and jewels. Very proud of the way they turned out and will be keeping some just because I love to look at them! Go for it, just be sure to take your time and print on some scrap paper until you have it exactly right ;-)
  • we are using these for our invites...so far they look great. I agree with PP...use coupons! I bought each box one at a time with a 40% off coupon each time...saved a lot of money!

  • I bought the plain white ones from Michaels. No border. They came in a pack of 100 for $15.99 (Thank you $100 in Michaels giftcards for Christmas) I bought stamps and ink pads to make the border, and glittery embossing powder. I highly recommend it. It's so much cheaper than ordering through a bridal shop or the like.

Exactly this! I used the Brides Champagne Swirl Kit. We purchased with 50% off coupons. The total for 160 invites was $80 when originally it was going to cost over $200. Mom thought they were professionally done when I showed her the mock-up. I couldn't be any happier with them.

  • Bought mine from Michaels and printed them on the computer.  Very easy to do and they were beautiful.  Great way to save some money- GL!

  • After all the hassle we went through getting invitations designed and ordered, and the price, although I think they will be lovely, I have already told fiance that we are using the self-print invitations from Michael's or etc. if we ever get married again, LOL.
Whoever said it was supposed to be happily ever after is a big fat liar.
