Wedding Invitations & Paper

Ugly Stamps

I just drove all over the city of Erie to find postcard stamps for my STDs. Went to the post office & they only had sheets of 100. I didnt need 100, only 60. So I had to go to the Pony Express & they had them, but they only had the 32cent ones, and then i had to add the 1cent ones. They were so UGLY!! The 32cent ones were these hideous hawaiian shirt ones (which I was warned they would be those ones from ladies on here) & the 1cent ones were these ugly tiffany lamp ones. They were sooo awful but I had to use them because they had to be mailed out today. Beware of the ugly postcard stamps!!!

Re: Ugly Stamps

  • I spent way too much time worrying over the stamps, and that wasted time is one of the things I regret about my wedding planning. Don't worry about it; most people won't even notice the stamp.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • Ditto Addie.  What did the postage on the last 3 wedding invitations or STD's you received look like?  What happens to the envelope?  It goes in the garbage.  Don't worry about the stamps.
  • I've never heard of a post office that would not sell the exact number of stamps a customer requested. Then again, I've heard of so many things on TK that I've never experienced in real life.

Anyhoo ... don't sweat the "ugly" stamps.  As long as they get the job done, it's all good.

I know! They said that they only had sheets of 100 & the others were on back order. They had a kiosk that I could have used but it only took debit or credit cards & I lost my debit card a few days ago & left FIs in my wallet, that I just so happened to leave locked in my desk when I left work on Friday.

  • Aw, I used those too and thought they were kind of fun! I'm pretty sure that was the only postcard stamp design available, at least in 2012.
  • I would have just purchased the sheet of 100 from the post office... You'll definitely need stamps to mail out your invites later on.

I would have got the sheet of 100, but our STDs were postcards, so its 33cents a stamp. Our invites are going to require a more expensive stamp. So I would have been left with 40 stamps that I could use for my invites.
