Help with how to adress widowed, in military, and divorced women??

When filling out envelopes,
How do I adress divorced women?
How do I adress people in the military?
How do I adress a widowed woman?

I'd ask the divorced woman.  Most I know go by: Ms. Hername Herlastname  however some also drop the husband's name and go back to a maiden name.

For a widowed woman, she's "techically" Mrs. John Smith but again, ask.  Older generations may stick to this but the younger ones may not.

As for military titles, it depends.

Divorced depends on whether or not she kept her married name. But she would be addressed as "Ms." First name, Last name

Divorced:  Ms. Jane Smith
(You use her given first name, and whatever last name she's using now - her maiden name or her married name)

Widowed:  Mrs. John Jones
(You address her exactly the same as you did when she was married.  Her name hasn't changed.)

Military:  Depends on what branch, what level, etc.

When I did mine, I addressed divorced women as Ms. Jane Smith (using whatever last name they go by). for widowed, I used Mrs. Jane Smith (using her late husband's last name).
