Wedding Invitations & Paper

All my designs ready in PDF format. Now what?

I was very happy with Vistaprint for my STD magnets, but now we're talking paper. It feels a little risky. I think I need to see it and feel it, see how everything works together before I buy. Any if I go with a custom design on VP, does that mean I'm stuck with plain white for everything?

Where can I find DIY invitations? And how do they work?

Anyone use Kinkos?

Thanks everyone!!

  • I believe VP only has white paper, and they have a few different weight options. I know you can order a samples of their paper, I don't think you can order an actual printed sample though.

We used Cards & Pockets for our invitations, which H designed himself. We didn't use pocket folds, just flat invitations & inserts. They sent us a printed sample within 24 hours, and I think we only paid $5 for it. They have TONS of different paper colors and weights, they can custom cut any paper size you want, print any color, etc. They always responded to our questions/changes promptly. It cost us about $100 for 75 invitations, RSVP post cards, and one insert.

I ordered mine from here after putting in the wording I wanted. They say they have samples. I planned my wedding in 6 months so by the time I was doing invitations i did not have time to get a sample. I did a traditional flat invite with embossed flower border. I did not do traditional RSVP but rather made my own that had a phone number, website and email for RSVP options. Made it cheaper and easier.
  • I LOVE Cards and Pockets. They are so helpful with any questions and ship fast! I made my own invitations and they are printing them for $0.42/piece (all pre-cut)!!!
  • Michael's has invitations kits.

I used Staples for my program copying and they were great. It only costs me $50 to have 220 programs printed out, 2 on a sheet and front and back.

  • I love this shop for PDFs of invites:

I got digital designs then used Vista Print.  It saved me a TON!  My order came with some smudged ink, but they were VERY responsive to my issue, and fixed it quickly for free.  I would use them again because of their great customer service.

    Good luck!
  • <div>Thanks for the recommendation on Cards and Pockets! I think we might go this route. How did you get such a good deal for an invitation suite? I am looking at just save the date postcards and it will be around $50 not including shipping. Any tips?</div><div>
