post card RSVP?

What do you guys think of them? I have never received one so I have no idea how it would look. I'm having a destination wedding so I thought it may be cute depending on the design. It would also save $$- no return envelope & less postage. Let me know your thought! :)

Re: post card RSVP?

  • They are not only cheaper, but more eco-friendly. They make total sense to me, just make sure to check the USPS specifications.
  • I did them (Vistaprint) and they were awesome. We put a "wedding mad lib" on the front and it was so much fun to see the responses. :)
  • So did you guys put the people's names on them, or did they have to write them in? (I know one person put each individual name on it so there was no question as to who was invited...) I'm just wondering about the people who decide they are bringing a guest & I don't know the guests name.
  • They had to write the names on. I only invited like two people to bring guests, though, so it was not a big issue for me.
  • we did them! it was awesome. i kept them all in a photo album too.

  • I was thinking about doing post cards as well! I love the idea. Thanks to those who recommended Vistaprint - i checked it out and it looks great! Can't wait to hear if they were more efficient, cheaper, whatever!

  • I had wanted to do a send-n-seal because it was cheaper to purchase, mail, and more eco-friendly.  I just couldn't find one I completely liked, though. =/ I ended up finding really nice invitations online that were basically the same price.  Downside: can't use post card stamps.

  • We also did postcards. It's easier, you don't need envelopes and it saves you postage. Just BE SURE to check specs at USPS.com. If postcards are too flimsy or small, they won't be delivered.
  • Eh, I think they're too informal for a wedding.  Fine for an AHR or shower or whatnot, but too informal for a wedding.  And, you run the risk of damage in the mail.  At least with an envelope, the envelope can take the damage and your RSVP card is ok.  But, I don't hate them.  I just don't like them.
