Should I Send Invites Now??

So my wedding is Sept. 1st - almost 3 months away. A friend of mine is getting married the same day, ironically, and she is sending her invites today! She just told me this, and then said that was definitely when you send out invitations....I had always thought it was 8-10 weeks, depending on if there was a holiday or not (which there is...)

Anyways, when is a good time? I have looked on all the wedding sites and they all say something different! I do have a number of people coming in from out of town, so I don't know, maybe I should send them earlier?!

I think over  3 months is a little early unless you have a lot of OOT guests and didn't send STDs.  I'm going to send ours out around 10 weeks. 
Do you have a large mutual friend group that you are worried about them getting her invite before yours and RSVPing??  There isn't much you can do about that, but I don't think it's worth hurrying your invites out for that though.

I'm getting married on September 1st as well, we are aiming to get invitations out by June 15th. We did not sent STDs, and half the guest list is OOT.

Our wedding is Sept. 8 and we're not sending invitations until July.

For some reason, I can't edit, but I wanted to add that 6-8 weeks is standard, 10 is fine.

We did 8 weeks exactly. We also send a STD.

I'm sending mine out 12 weeks before. Over half of my guests are coming from out of town, and theres a huge university function the same weekend that sells out the entire city for hotels months ahead of time.
