How to announce the person giving the bride away when not the father of the bride??

Hi -

I'm working on our ceremony programs and I'm not sure how to announce the person that will be giving me away since my father passed away years ago? Any rules for this situation?

    You could either have him where you name all the honored family members/wedding party, or when you list the order of events you could say something like

    Musical prelude
    "Song" (Artist)

    Procession
    "Song" (Artist)

    Bridal Procession
    Bride escorted by John Smith
    "Song" (Artist)
