Wedding Invitations & Paper

Brides brand invitations from Michael's---any good?

I want to buy my invitations from Michael's. They are the Brides brand black and white damask pocket invitations. Does anybody have any experience with these? I've heard they're a pain in the butt to print out, but I've also heard wonderful things about them. So what are you guys' opinions? Thanks!

  • I bought the Brides brand and was excited to use them. However I have a laserjet printer and the toner just rubbed right off the paper since it is textured :( I almost had a heart attack!
Luckily my sister found some cute ones at Party City for CHEAPER! and I loved them sooo much more. I've already gotten tons of compliments on them. Yes I hand fed my printer each sheet but better safe than sorry.

These are the ones I picked, I used a sheer hot pink ribbon to tie them.
I bought 4 boxes and was able to use a $20 off coupon-such a steal!

  • We used invites from Michaels, and with a few changes and careful assembly, they turned out SUPER nice.  The original design had a bow tied around it, which the post office said would raise the chances of a machine tearing the envelope open.  We cut and glued the ribbon flat into a slide-on and off wrap around the invite, and it looked great!

People commented on how formal our invites looked, which made me inordinately pleased with myself :P

  • I used BRIDES brand at Michael's.  I just put them in the mail last Thursday.  I know some have received them since I have received 3 rsvp's.  I'm very happy with how they turned out.

I'm using these too.. adding a smaller size red ribbon to the white belly band it comes with. Made a mock up and it's gorgeous! Printing can be a little tricky- the manufacturer has online templates for their products as well as downloadable Word document templates. I used the Word templates because I could tweak it to get everything to line up properly. Printing took a while (I printed in batches of 10, and only had a few mess ups.) Can't wait to send them out!
