Wedding Invitations & Paper

Save The Date Ideas! - Just Got Engaged!

I just recently got engaged and started doing all the Pinterest searches and planning. The wedding isn't until 2013 but I wanted to ask about any places that you all could recommend for printing SAVE THE DATE invitations.

Thank you!!

  • Vistaprint is great for Save-the-Dates.

Standard timeline is 6-9 months before the wedding.  You'll want to make sure you have a fair chunk of your planning done by then (at least your venues, budget, guest list, etc nailed down).

Also, remember that anyone who gets a Save-the-Date MUST also get a formal invitation.  A lot of people on here send out a bazillion STDs, then change their mind or have budget issues and want to cut back on their guest list, but can't becuase it would mean "un-inviting" people.   So if you DO use STDs, make sure you have your guest list and budget figured out, and even then I would only send them to out-of-towners or to people you KNOW FOR SURE that you want attending your wedding:-)  This will keep you from getting into a bind later.

    </div><div>This.  </div><div>
</div><div>It's easy to get wrapped up and excited right after the engagement, but do yourself a favor and don't do anything now that you can't undo later.  Start working on roughing out a guest list and budget, and start collecting photos of ideas you like.  </div><div>
</div><div>Then, after you've booked a venue and are about 6-9 months out, start working on things like STDs.
