Advice to the future DIY Bride

I just recieved my printed invitations from Kinkos/FedEX and they are beautiful! But the beauty did not come without a price. The price was a good 48 hours of work between me and the woman helping me at the store to align all of my insert cards.

Here is my advice to future invitation DIY brides, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT insist on lining up text across your insert cards! It is near impossible, and in the end I had to settle for almost lined up because we both ran out of patience.

I know, in all of the pictures you see it looks cool to have the image that spans the cards, or line up the headings but I would advise for your sanity, pick another design. I now very much regret not left justifiying the top card, centering the middle card and right justifying the bottom card. Or just have a proffesional design and print them for you if you reall must have perfectly aligned cards!

Happy DIYing future brides!

  • or don't take complicated/not every day printing to Kinkos.
  • I am DIY-ing my invites and I had no trouble creating a template where my text was all aligned as I wanted it to be.

  • Well I am gald you got yours to work. I worked very hard and ran many samples at home to ensure everything was lined up perfectly. Howeer the printer at Kinkos was the source of the issue, and for just one of the files.

The issue was not Kinkos, in fact they did a wonderful job, and put in waaay more hours than necessary to try and fix the issue.
