Wedding Invitations & Paper

help with rsvp section of wedding website

Is there some place that explains how this setup works? I am confused and don't want to mess it up so that our guests don't reply correctly.Should i be adding in each name separately of a couple? So if I invite for example Greg Smith and guest, how do I add these names into the guest list to make this work?
Thanks for any help you can give!

Do you have a wedding website on The Knot?  If you follow their instructions and create a spread sheet with the columns they suggested then you should be fine.  Upload the spreadsheet and then you can go through and make sure all the info is right.  As far as the "and guest" part, I don't know.  We aren't allowing single people to bring guests.
  • I wouldn't use the tools on TK to track your guest's RSVPs or any other important information. TK is notorious for technical glitches and many a bride has come on here in a panic because all of the responses/information has been lost and cannot be recovered.

</div><div>I have two other versions of the spreadsheet saved aside from what is uploaded on The Knot.  If a bride didn't save the original spreadsheet with all the info then she's not very bright...

  • I just kept track of mine with a pen and a piece of notebook paper.

<div>Heck yeah!  I did it all old school. No spreadsheets for the guest list stuff for me. I wrote out the initial guest list, peoples' address, the official guest list as RSVPs arrived AND did the seating arrangement all with a pen and paper (pencil for the seating arrangement). I found that much simpler than d!cking with technology and glitches and whatnot. Just look at how many brides we have on here fretting about getting their spreadsheets to work, getting names and addresses moved around on the spreadsheet, etc. Pssssh. Simplify!</div>

  • Thanks for the responses. We were trying to save respond cards, stamps and paper by using the website. This was the main reason we decided to build a website. Now I am worried. I did download the template and am filling it in to import later. Im not worried about that part just what to do to make sure David Smith's guest gets a meal and that we know she is coming. Is there anyone at the Knot to contact to get help? Is there a tutorial to use for this website stuff?

NO. No. No. No. No. No.<div>
</div><div>Don't just do online rsvps.  It's complicated enough to get people to rsvp the old fashioned way.  Complicating it further won't help.  That's my two cents.</div>

<div>This. Not everyone is computer savvy, and people like Great Aunt Mildred might be going "Oh, dear!  What am I supposed to do here? What is this thing?" </div><div>
</div><div>I am not a fan of not having old-fashioned response cards. When the RSVP is just a phone call or online, it feels "off" to me. </div>

  • Thanks again for your responses. Does anyone from the knot look at these? How can I make contact with them to ask about this?
