RSVP card wording

Hi,
I'm starting to look at wording for my invitations and RSVP cards. I think I have the invitations figured out but I'm struggling with the RSVP cards.

1. Do I need to include more than one RSVP card if the invitation is addressed to a couple or family?
2. How do I word it if I'm asking my guests to indicate their meal choice? For example, invitation to 2 guests, how do I get them to indicate who wants chicken or beef.

Sample wording:
M _______________________________
__ Accepts with pleasure
__ Declines with regret

Choice of Starter
__ Prime Rib
__ Chicken
__ Vegetarian

Just not sure how to write this so I know who's asking for what! Laughing

Re: RSVP card wording

  • One RSVP is needed per invitation, the inner or outer envelope (depending on how you do your invites) will suggest who is invited, therefore who should be RSVping.

The wording looks right, other then above the meal options, it should say Entree option, not starter (starter is an appetizer).

They will just put a number by the entree to select for each person. As long as you know which entrees go to which table, you don't need to know who is eating what...the servers will work this out, you don't need to worry about this, just number of each entree.

    Hope this helps

  • One RSVP per invite.  Here is a pic of how mine looks so you can see the wording I chose:

  • Mine is similar to shortee. I toyed with the idea of writing "please initial meal choice" instead of "please indicate" but my caterer said the servers would figure out who gets what, as pp said.
