Addressing Dark Envelopes

My envelopes are dark purple so I can't write on them in normal ink. These are the two options I am trying to decide between:
1. Writing the addresses out by hand (I have very good handwriting) with a white or silver, fine point paint pen.
2. Using the wrap around address labels. (I really don't like the idea of using labels, but if it looks better then I am okay with it.)

What sounds better? I am open to better suggestions.

Re: Addressing Dark Envelopes

  • Use a silver or white ink pen.

  • I think the white or silver against the dark purple would look super sharp and elegant :)

  • I agree with the PPs, I've seen pictures of others who have used white or silver pens on dark paper and it looks really beautiful!

  • I'm in the exact same boat as you.  I have dark purple envelopes.  I decided to use a silver pen...I have good handwriting, too.  I think they'll look nice!
  • I have dark blue envelopes and wrote on them with a silver pen.  It looks really nice!  I am so happy that I decided to do it that way.  It really stands out.

  • I just helped a friend last year with her navy colored envelopes, and we used a silver pen - they turned out beautiful!!!

  • I also vote for the silver/white pen. Its worth it.

To take it one step further: we ordered a custom return address stamp and got a silver ink pad so the return address was also gorgeous and it saved a whole lot of hand cramping :)
