Intro (again)

Hi girls!  I used to be on here a little in the summer, but haven’t been on in a long time so I thought I would reintroduce myself.  I’m getting married next September in Beaver Falls.  My reception is going to be at Center Stage in Monaca.  There will be around 350 people invited (very big families).  My theme is Steelers (I’m a little obsessed).  For our honeymoon we are going to Napa Valley and surrounding areas.  I haven’t started looking for a dress yet, but my mom and my MOH want to go Saturday.  I wanted to ask if anyone knows of a good dress shop to go to for plus size dresses.  I want to go somewhere that the people are nice and I won’t feel uncomfortable.

Hey, I remember you- welcome back! You are under the year mark now! I bought my dress at David's. I also looked at MB Bride in Greensburg, which has a large selection. Many of the other ladies on here looked there and/or purchased their gowns there. Have fun shopping! Any specific styles you're interested in?

Welcome back!  Congrats on being under a year.  Alfred Angelo has a large selection in plus size and my understanding is that they don't charge extra for those sizes.  I went to the one in Monroeville and had a good experience, but I know some others did not.  I think there is also one in the North Hills.

David's Bridal in Monroeville had the biggest selection of plus size dresses + the friendliest people.  Alfred Angelo's people were not very helpful to me and were just trying to pull off dresses in my size rather than styles I liked.  That being said, I ended up getting my dress at MB Bride in Greensburg.  They had a fair selection of plus sizes but they one have one size of each dress in the store.  MB Bride is an awesome store if you're a size 2-12.  It gets a bit tougher for the bigger sizes.  In my size, they only had 4 dresses to look at - luckily I fell in love with the 3rd one! ;)

My dress had straps and a wrap-around waist! You may be interested in something similar to mine, which I know David's carries a few. I got mine at the one in Monroeville- loved my consultant Elayne! Here's a non-pro pic of the upper front of the dress in case you are interested:

I went to both David's Bridal and Alfred Angelo in North Hills and they were both great.  If you go to Alfred Angelo-ask for Annie-she's GREAT!
